Bar Resources

  • You will need to apply for an alcohol license
  • You will need to submit an electronic fingerprint card to accompany your alcohol license application
  • You will need to provide a diagram or sketch of the building. Show the location of the bar, dining room, bathrooms and kitchen as well as parking around the building. If you don't want to do this yourself, there are organizations like the Beverage Law Institute that will assist you for a fee.

Please note the transfer of the liquor license (SFS) can only be done after the business has sold and you have a Bill of Sale. However, the State can issue a temporary license that does not require a bill of sale. You should acquire a temporary license prior to closing.
